Signs to watch for

  • Drooling and low body temperature
  • Wobbliness or tremors
  • Laboured breathing
  • Liver failure in cats

What to do

If oil got on fur, wash with dish soap and come in. Concentrated tea tree oil on or in a cat is an emergency; even diffusers harm cats in small rooms.

Macau note

Never apply tea tree oil to pets for skin problems or fleas. Run diffusers only in ventilated rooms cats can leave, or not at all.
