Signs to watch for

  • Brown or blue-tinged gums
  • Laboured breathing
  • Swollen face or paws in cats
  • Vomiting and jaundice

What to do

For cats a single tablet is life-threatening: come in immediately. For dogs, call us with the strength and number of tablets. Never dose pets yourself.

Macau note

Cats cannot process paracetamol at all. Well-meaning owners giving half a Panadol to a sick cat is one of the saddest poisonings we see in Macau.
