Monitor at home

Watch your pet closely for the next 24 hours. If vomiting, weakness or unusual behaviour appears, call us on +853 6677 6611.

Signs to watch for

  • Marked thirst
  • Vomiting or diarrhoea
  • Belly pain after a large amount

What to do

Offer water and monitor after a small piece. Call us if a small dog ate several slices; the salt, sugar and garlic content is significant.

Macau note

Macau's famous souvenir jerky is cured with sugar, salt, spice and often garlic. Tourist sample stalls put it right at dog-nose height.
