What to do

No emergency. Phalaenopsis orchids are non-toxic to dogs and cats. Watch instead for fertiliser pellets or bark chips in the pot.

Good news: the elegant CNY orchid displays are pet safe. Keep pets out of the potting bark and away from fertiliser.
