Signs to watch for
- Soft stool from sugary flesh
- Vomiting if the pit was swallowed
- Straining or poor appetite with blockage
What to do
A few cubes of flesh are fine. If the pit was swallowed, call us the same day; mango pits are a common cause of intestinal blockage.
Macau note
Peeled flesh in small amounts is a safe treat. The fibrous pit is the hazard, especially for medium dogs who gulp it whole.
