Signs to watch for

  • Gagging or pawing at the mouth
  • Vomiting or retching
  • Straining, black stool or blood in stool

What to do

Do not induce vomiting. Remove any remaining bones, offer nothing by mouth and call us. Splinters can pierce the gut on the way up or down.

Macau note

Char siu and roast meat bones from rice shops are a classic Macau hazard, often grabbed from bins or street rubbish on walks.
