Signs to watch for

  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhoea
  • Blockage signs if many pits were swallowed

What to do

A few pitted cherries are fine. Call us if many whole cherries with pits were eaten; pits carry cyanide compounds and can block small guts.

Macau note

Gift boxes of imported cherries are popular in Macau. The flesh is safe; pits, stems and leaves are the problem.
