What to do
Rinse the mouth, offer water and monitor. Ordinary hand dishwashing liquid is a mild irritant; machine dishwasher products are far harsher and need a call.
Macau note
Licking freshly washed bowls is the common route and rarely serious. Keep automatic dishwasher tablets, which are alkaline, well out of reach.
