Supporting Macau's Animal Welfare

We believe every animal deserves compassionate care. Royal Veterinary Center is proud to partner with Macau's leading animal welfare organizations — providing veterinary services, emergency treatment, and medical expertise to help rescue animals find their forever homes.

Our Commitment to Animal Welfare

At RVC, we dedicate a portion of our time and resources to supporting the organizations that work tirelessly to protect Macau's animals. From emergency surgeries on rescued strays to routine vaccinations for shelter animals, our veterinary team stands alongside these incredible groups — because no animal should suffer without access to quality medical care.

Our Welfare Partners

The organizations we proudly support

ANIMA — Society for the Protection of Animals Macau

Founded 2003

One of Macau's largest and most established animal welfare organizations. ANIMA operates a shelter in Coloane caring for 700+ rescued animals — dogs, cats, rabbits, and exotic pets. They run active adoption programs, special protection initiatives, and community education.

RVC Role: RVC provides emergency veterinary care, vaccinations, and spay/neuter services for ANIMA's shelter animals. Our team regularly assists with medical assessments of newly rescued animals.

MASDAW — Macau Association for Stray Dogs and Animal Welfare

Founded 2014

A dedicated non-profit focused on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming stray dogs. MASDAW has rescued over 130 dogs and actively promotes community education about responsible pet ownership through volunteer dog-walking events and outreach programs.

RVC Role: RVC supports MASDAW with subsidized veterinary treatments, sterilization campaigns, and post-rescue medical care. We help ensure every rescued dog receives proper health screening before adoption.

AAPAM shelters abandoned dogs and raises awareness about animal abandonment in Macau. They host annual Canine Carnival events where dogs, owners, and animal lovers socialize, and operate an active adoption service.

RVC Role: RVC provides veterinary support for AAPAM's shelter animals, including health check-ups, vaccinations, and treatment for sick or injured rescues.

MAWA — Macau Animal Welfare Association

Community Outreach

MAWA runs awareness programs and innovative therapy dog sessions for people with autism and other conditions. They host regular "fun days" where the public can spend time with animals, and maintain an active adoption program.

RVC Role: RVC supports MAWA's therapy dog program by ensuring all participating animals are in excellent health. We provide regular wellness checks and vaccinations for their therapy and shelter dogs.

IAM — Municipal Affairs Bureau (Macao Animal Health Control)

Government Body

The official government body overseeing animal health, licensing, and adoption in Macau. IAM operates the Municipal Kennel, manages the lost and found pet registry, and processes adoptions of impounded animals. They played a key role in rehoming greyhounds after the Canidrome closure.

RVC Role: RVC collaborates with IAM on animal health initiatives, disease prevention campaigns, and community vaccination drives. We support their adoption events with pre-adoption health assessments.

How RVC Helps

Our ongoing commitment to animal welfare in Macau

Emergency Care

We provide emergency veterinary treatment for rescued animals brought in by welfare organizations — often at reduced or no cost.

Vaccinations & Sterilization

Our team runs vaccination and spay/neuter campaigns for shelter animals, helping control Macau's stray population humanely.

Health Screenings

Every animal deserves a clean bill of health. We conduct pre-adoption health checks so families know their new pet is ready for home.

Education & Outreach

We participate in community education events, teaching responsible pet ownership and preventive care to Macau's residents.

Shelter Partnerships

We maintain ongoing relationships with all major Macau welfare groups, providing consistent veterinary support year-round.

Exotic Pet Support

As Macau's only 24-hour exotic animal hospital, we care for rabbits, birds, reptiles, and other non-traditional rescue animals.

Every Adoption Saves a Life
